Excellent work , but it can be more cool if we can choose our "genre".
i've try by myself by changing this in the source code:

it's ok the widget display the wanted radio chanel, but never play.
I'm not a specialist..
Can we expect a new version ??

That's a good idea, shoutcast.com is offering genres and subgenres, so why not this widget? Expect it soon.

About the channel that never plays, it might happen with some streams, depending on their compatibility with the netvibes player, the current number of listeners, etc. Also, it also takes some time for the player to buffer data: the radio then starts after a few seconds.

I own a webradio focused on electronic music (as you can see in the subgenres i've selected) and it's cool to see my radio in the displayed channel :-)

I just installed the module and when I click on a radio, the player starts at the to of my netvibes page, I see that the music is playing but I can't hear a sound. When I play podcasts are radio from other modules thesounds works OK. Do you have any idea of what's wrong??

I am trying to extend this so it plays BBC Radio Streams but cannot get it to work. The streams are Real Player based. Would the Netvibes Audio Player be able to use this format?

*blink* Yesterday I added this to my NV. Yesterday I used this ... having it in a tab alongside my FB widget.
Today I visited that tab and there it was ... the FB widget. The radio was nowhere to be seen.

The iGoogle widget works with no problem on my iMac Leopard 10.5.1, but neither the Dashboard widget nor the Netvibes one produce any sound :(
